Rider Flees Gunfire On Motorcycle In Stanton

Delaware State Police are investigating an incident that occurred at around 2:20 Monday afternoon.

Officials have not released details surrounding the incident, however, FSU has learned from multiple sources the details of what occurred.

Sources tell FSU that a dirt bike rider was riding in the woods behind the Stanton Walgreens on Main Street. While riding, two individuals reportedly approached the rider, one of them brandishing a handgun according to our sources.

The rider fled the woods on the bike and called 911 to report the incident. Delaware State Police responded quickly to the scene.

Using the rider’s detailed information, authorities searched the area and were able to locate two individuals fitting the descriptions given by the rider.

During the search, the police deployed a K9 unit which played an important role in apprehending one of the suspects according to our sources.

We’re also told that at least six shots were fired during the incident and that a firearm was taken into evidence at the scene by police.
