The Sea Witch Festival, an annual Halloween celebration, is set to enchant visitors in Rehoboth Beach from October 27 to October 29, 2023. Hosted in downtown Rehoboth Beach, the festival is a free, family-friendly event that offers a variety of activities, parades, and live entertainment.
The festivities commence with the Sea Witch Balloon and Clipper Ship leading a parade down Rehoboth Avenue. Hundreds of participants, dressed in an array of costumes, will follow the headlining float. Spectators are advised to arrive before the parade’s 9 a.m. start time to secure a good viewing spot.
For those interested in more than just watching, the festival provides ample opportunities for active participation. Downtown Rehoboth and Dewey Beach will be open for trick-or-treating, and the Rehoboth Beach Museum will screen classic horror films. A Kid’s Zone at First Street Station and a scavenger hunt are also part of the festival’s diverse offerings.
Not to be left out, dogs have their own parade on Sunday, starting from the north end of the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk. Pet owners are encouraged to dress up with their canine companions and join the walk down the boardwalk.
Athletic enthusiasts can look forward to the Sea Witch 5K Classic Run and One Mile Fright Walk on Sunday. The event will feature over 500 runners in costumes, with prizes awarded for both the fastest time and the best costume.
The Convention Center will host an expanded artisan and vendor area, open from 1–6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m.–5 p.m. on Sunday. Over 30 vendors will showcase and sell their handmade products and goods. The Convention Center will also feature a Kid’s Corner, where children can enjoy Halloween-themed activities such as Spooky Science Fun, trick-or-treat bag decorating, magic shows, and monster art.
Live music will be performed at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand throughout the three-day event, featuring several bands and artists across a range of musical genres. These concerts are free and suitable for the whole family.
