Earlier this morning a routine drive on Interstate 495 southbound, near the North Dupont Highway off-ramp, took a turn when a motor vehicle collision occurred.
Just after 7:45 a.m., a vehicle collision resulted in a sedan overturning, but ultimately landing upright, according to New Castle County Paramedic S/Sergeant Abigail Haas.
Upon their arrival, the New Castle County Paramedics found a 31-year-old female driver who had sustained a head injury as a result of the collision. Paramedics along with responding crews provided medical care to stabilize the injured driver, who was later transported to Christiana Hospital in Stanton.
The injured driver, while hurt, was in stable condition during her transfer to the hospital said Haas.
The road was closed for a brief time while crews worked to package the patient before transport.
The Delaware State Police are investigating the incident.
