A 14-year-old male juvenile has been arrested by Wilmington Police in connection with a shooting that took place in October.
Officials said the incident, which occurred on the 1200 block of West 8th Street, was reported to police on October 22 at around 6:02 p.m. Officers from the Uniformed Services Division were dispatched to the scene where they discovered a 22-year-old male with gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was reported to be in stable condition at the time.
Detective James Rook of the Wilmington Police Criminal Investigations Division led the investigation. Officials said through investigative work, Detective Rook identified the teen and secured warrants for his arrest. On November 3, the suspect was arrested without incident.
The charges against the juvenile include first-degree assault, first-degree robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited, criminal mischief under $1,000, and discharging a firearm on a city street.
Following his arrest, the juvenile was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11. The court set bail at $130,200 cash-only, and he was committed to the New Castle County Juvenile Detention Center.
