Man Shot Leaving Dover Wawa Saturday Morning

Dover Police have updated a story that only First State Update brought you over the weekend.

The Dover Police Department says they are investigating a shooting that left a 45-year-old Dover man injured early Saturday morning. The investigation began at 5:34 a.m., when Dover Police was called for a shooting at Wawa, 1450 Forrest Avenue. Officers responded to the area and located the victim who had sustained gunshot wounds to his upper body.

The victim was transported to Bayhealth Kent Campus where he was treated for his injuries.

The investigation revealed that the victim was returning to his vehicle after exiting the store when he heard gunshots and realized he was shot police said. No suspect description is available at this time.
