Delaware State Police arrested a 14-year-old student from Felton, following a felony assault that occurred at Lake Forest High School on Tuesday.
Officials said on December 19, 2023, at approximately 1:05 p.m., the Delaware State Police School Resource Officer assigned to Lake Forest High School located at 5407 Killens Pond Road in Felton, and the school’s administrators responded to a classroom for a report of an assault.
The investigation showed that a 14-year-old student went into a classroom and assaulted another 14-year-old student by repeatedly punching and stomping on the victim’s head according to police. The suspect was removed from the classroom by teachers and detained by the School Resource Officer.
The victim was taken to an area hospital by her parent, where she was treated for serious injuries to her head.
On December 23, 2023, the 14-year-old suspect turned herself in for Assault Second Degree (Felony). She was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7 and released to a guardian on a $5,000 unsecured bond.
