Newark Police are investigating a crash that occurred in Newark, on Wednesday evening just after 9:00 in the area of Elkton Road and Casho Mill Road.
Initial reports indicate that a woman in her 20s, while riding a scooter, was struck by a vehicle. Following the collision, the woman was dragged underneath the vehicle and became trapped.
Cews from Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Company, along with New Castle County Paramedics, Newark Police, and Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 4, responded to the scene.
The woman was eventually freed from beneath the vehicle and transported by ambulance to Christiana Hospital. She reportedly sustained serious but not-life-threatening injuries as a result of the accident. The extent of her injuries and her current condition has not been disclosed at this time.
The Newark Police Department is likely conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
