Limestone Road (Route 7), between New Linden Hill Road and Arundel Drive, is currently closed due to an incident involving downed power lines.
According to initial reports, a large truck traveling on Limestone Road inadvertently pulled down the wires, resulting in the toppling of a utility pole.
Rescue crews that originally responded to the incident have cleared the scene, several other entities remain active in the area.
The Delaware State Police, the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT), and Delmarva Power continue their efforts at the scene. The incident has caused a loss of power in the nearby neighborhoods. Delmarva Power is estimating that power restoration to the affected customers will be around 3:00 PM on Wednesday.
As of now, Limestone Road remains closed as crews work to repair the damaged utility pole and the downed wires. The authorities advise motorists and residents to seek alternative routes.
