Officials: County Officers Apprehend Suspect Fleeing Shooting Scene

 Detectives with the New Castle County Division of Police are currently investigating a shooting that occurred in the community of Summer Hill.

Officials said on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 5:58 p.m., patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the area of Fern Court for a shooting that had just occurred. While en route, officers were provided with a description of a suspect who was seen running from the scene. Upon arrival, officers were able to apprehend an individual who matched the description provided.

The male, identified as 26-year-old, Ammanuel Falice of Newark., was found to be in possession of a firearm and a loaded magazine police said. He was transported to the New Castle County Police headquarters. While examining evidence at the scene of the shooting, police located a residence that had been struck by gunfire.

Ammanuel was charged with one count of felony reckless endangering in the first degree, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and criminal mischief. He was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and held in lieu of $65,500 cash bail.
