The Wilmington Police Department’s Cold Case Unit and the New Castle County Division of Police Cold Case Squad are both appealing for the public’s help in solving two unsolved murder cases from late 2019.
On November 25, 2019, the Wilmington Police Department responded to the 2300 block of North Washington Street, where they found two gunshot victims were found. Both were transported to the hospital where 19-year-old Rajion Dinkins succumbed to his injuries. (Pictured below in blue)
Just over a month later, on December 31, 2019, the New Castle County Division of Police encountered a similar situation. Patrol officers, responding to reports of a traffic accident near the Village of Canterbury Apartments, discovered 26-year-old Jahlil Patton outside a vehicle, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound to his upper torso.
Authorities have emphasized that any piece of information, no matter how small, could be pivotal in breaking the impasse in these investigations. The Wilmington Police Department and the New Castle County Division of Police are urging anyone with information about either of these cases to step forward.
