At approximately 5:00 PM on Thursday, firefighters from the Mill Creek Fire Company, along with mutual aid companies, were dispatched to a reported structure fire in the Dunlinden Acres neighborhood.
Upon arrival, the First Due Engine, encountered a single-story family dwelling, with visible smoke coming from the home.
A fire was located in the kitchen and was quickly extinguished, preventing further spread and potential damage to the rest of the residence.
During the incident, two dogs were discovered inside the house. They received immediate care on the scene. As of now, the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshals. This incident marks the fifth fire responded to by the fire departments in the New Year.
