Woman Charged In September Fatal Pedestrian Incident

The New Castle County Division of Police has made an arrest in a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on Wilton Boulevard in September. The incident, which took place late Tuesday evening between 9:30 pm and 10:00 pm, on September 26, 2023, involved a pedestrian who was fatally injured.

Details regarding the vehicle involved or additional injuries were not provided by the authorities at the time. The Division’s Traffic Services Unit conducted an investigation, working on the scene throughout the night and concluding their on-site activities just before 10:00 am on Wednesday.

Detectives announced the arrest of 21-year-old Julisa Prak of Philadelphia. Prak faces a charge of one felony count of leaving the scene of a collision resulting in death. She surrendered to the authorities at the New Castle County Police headquarters on January 9 and was subsequently arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2. Prak has been released after posting a $5,000 secured bail.

Authorities have yet to release the name of the pedestrian that was killed.
