Detectives have charged 20-year-old Justin Hassaballa of New Castle following a stabbing. On Friday, February 23, 2024, at approximately 11:48 pm, patrol officers with the New Castle County Division of Police responded to the 1400 block of New Jersey Avenue for a stabbing that had just occurred. Officers arrived and located a 47-year-old male who told officers he had been assaulted and had multiple cuts and stab wounds to his body.
Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Through interviews and investigative steps, Detectives were able to identify the suspect as 20-year-old Justin Hassaballa police said.
Hassaballa was charged with Assault in the 1st Degree, Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony, and Terroristic Threatening. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed on $81,000 secured.
