The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a 20-year-old female of Cheltenham, Pennsylvania injured late Friday evening.
The investigation began at 10:58 p.m., when Dover Police Department was called to the Wyndham Garden Hotel, located at 561 North DuPont Highwa in Dover, for the report of shots fired.
Officers arrived on scene and located the victim who had sustained gunshot wounds to her upper and lower body. Officers on scene rendered aid until the victim was turned over to EMS personnel. The victim was transported to Bayhealth Kent Campus for additional treatment for non life-threatening injuries.
The investigation showed that there was a large party in the ballroom of the hotel and for unknown reasons, a suspect began shooting. The suspect is only described as a male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt at this time.
