Delaware State Police are currently investigating a vehicle accident that occurred at approximately 9:32 AM on Wednesday in the Lincoln area.
The incident took place at the intersection of Northbound Dupont Boulevard (Route 113) and Johnson Road, north of Ellendale. The crash involved a rollover crash with heavy entrapment.
Crews from Ellendale and Milford, along with Kent County Paramedics and Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 2, were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, first responders noted one individual in critical condition.
In total, three individuals were involved in the crash, with injuries ranging from minor to critical. The critically injured patient required airlift transport to Christiana Hospital in New Castle County via Trooper 2. The other two patients, who were able to self-extricate and were ambulatory at the scene, sustained less severe injuries. These individuals were transported to Bay Health South in Milford by ambulance. Their conditions were described as serious for one patient and minor for the other.
The accident has closed the area surrounding Northbound Dupont Boulevard and Johnson Road as investigation and cleanup efforts continue. Motorists are advised to expect delays and to seek alternate routes if possible.
