Police Chase Ends At The Grove In Newark, 5th DUI Charge

On February 1, 2024, at about 5:14 in the evening, Newark Police responded to the parking lot of the Shoppes of Louviers, located in the 200 block of Paper Mill Road, for a report of a suspicious person.

A caller to 911 reported that a person appeared to be attempting to break into a vehicle.  The caller advised that the person entered the vehicle and was leaving the shopping center.  The operator of the vehicle had covered the license plate with a coat in order to obscure the plate police said.

Responding officers observed the vehicle on Possum Park Road and attempted to stop the vehicle.  The driver did not stop and officers pursued the vehicle onto Capitol Trail.  The vehicle, which was traveling at a speed less than 30 mph, nearly struck a bicycle and disregarded red lights as it continued onto Library Avenue and then turned into The Grove.  Officers were able to stop the vehicle in The Grove shopping center.

The driver, identified as Kevin Isadorski, 48, of Clayton, was taken into custody without incident.  Due to Isadorski’s apparent impairment, he was transported to an area hospital for treatment police said.  It was ultimately determined that the vehicle belonged to Isadorski.

Upon his release from the hospital, Isadorski was transported to Newark Police headquarters where he was charged with eleven offenses, including:

  • Fifth Offense Driving Under the Influence
  • Disregarding a Police Officer’s Signal
  • Driving While Revoked
  • Aggressive Driving
  • Reckless Driving
  • Additional traffic offenses

Isadorski appeared before Justice of the Peace Court #11 by video and was ordered to be held in default of $8,800 secured bail.  Isadorski was turned over to the custody of the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in Wilmington.
