On February 27, 2024, at 3:32 a.m., patrol officers were dispatched to the area of Georgetown Village Apartment Complex for a report of two suspects attempting to break into cars.
Officials said upon arrival, Officers observed two suspects matching the reported description leaving in a vehicle and then conducted a motor vehicle stop after observing a traffic violation. The suspects were identified as Ryan Harris from Salem, New Jersey, and a 16-year-old male from Chester, Pennsylvania. The suspects were later found to be in possession of ski masks, gloves, multiple screwdrivers and USB cables.
Ryan Harris was charged with one felony count of possession of burglar tools or instruments, one felony count of conspiracy second degree, and one misdemeanor count of criminal trespassing in the third degree. He was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and held in lieu of $3,500 secured bail.
The 16-year-old was charged with one felony count of possession of burglar tools or instruments, one felony count of conspiracy second degree and one misdemeanor count of criminal trespassing in the third degree. He was arraigned by New Castle County Family Court and released on $1,000 unsecured bail.
