Woman In Critical Condition After Being Struck Monday Morning

Detectives with the Traffic Services Unit are currently investigating a motor vehicle crash where a pedestrian was struck.

Officials said on Monday, February 12, 2024, at 1:48 a.m., patrol officers responded to the area of Appleby Road and Saybrook Way in Wilton, New Castle in reference to a crash investigation.

Officers arrived at the scene and located a 40-year-old female victim who had been struck by a vehicle and had sustained serious injuries. She was transported to a local hospital where she remains in critical condition.

The striking vehicle was located near the scene and identified as a 2008 gray Toyota Tundra. Investigators from the Division’s Traffic Services Unit later arrived and assumed the investigation. This remains an active case; additional information will be provided when it becomes available.
