Officials Update Accident That Sent Three To Hospital, One By Air

At approximately 4:15 p.m. New Castle County Paramedics, the New Castle Fire Company, Delaware City Fire Company, Christiana Fire Company, Port Penn Fire Company, and Delaware State Police Aviation were
dispatched to Hamburg Road in the area of River Road for reports of a Motor Vehicle Collision with
entrapment.

Units arrived on scene to find a two-vehicle collision, with three patients transported to Christiana Hospital in Stanton as follows:

The driver of vehicle 1 was a 70-year-old female who required a significant extrication from the vehicle. New Castle County Paramedics initiated care, and the patient was transported by Delaware State Police Aviation. She was in critical condition with extremity injuries, head injuries, and possible internal injuries.

The passenger in vehicle 1 was a 61-year-old-male transported by Christiana Fire Company in stable
condition

The driver of vehicle 2 was a 24-year-old male transported by New Castle Fire Company in stable condition Delaware State Police are investigating the incident.
