Early Thursday morning on March 28, 2024, the New Castle County Division of Police responded to reports of gunshots in the Edgemoor Gardens community, in the unit block of Rodney Drive.
The response, just before 12:30, led to the discovery of a 24-year-old male inside a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the immediate first aid administered by officers and rescue crews the man succumbed to his injuries
Shortly after the incident, another individual, an 18-year-old male, arrived at Wilmington Hospital around 12:57 a.m. He too was suffering from gunshot wounds and is currently listed in stable condition. Officials did not publicly link the two shooting victims. They did say that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
Detectives from the Division’s Major Crimes Unit and Evidence Detection Unit have taken the lead in the investigation.
