14-YO Flees From Police In Stolen Car, Released

Wilmington Police have arrested a 14-year-old male juvenile and recovered a stolen vehicle.

Officials said the incident occurred on April 13, just before midnight. Police officers from the Uniformed Services Division spotted the stolen vehicle on the 300 block of North Clayton Street.

When they attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver sped away, initiating a brief chase. The vehicle was later found abandoned in the 500 block of Rodman Street, and the driver attempted to escape on foot. After a short pursuit, the juvenile was arrested without further incident.

The juvenile now faces several charges, including traffic violations, disregarding a police officer’s signal and, resisting arrest. He was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and subsequently released on a $2,000 unsecured bail.
