The Dover Police Department has released additional details regarding a fatal shooting that First State Update first told you about this morning.
Officials said they arrested Breshawn Best,19, of Dover, on murder charges, following a shooting that occurred Sunday night.
The investigation began at 8:33 p.m., when Dover Police Department was called for a shooting in the area of South Governors Avenue and West Reed Street. Officers responded and located the victim, a 15-year-old male of Dover, who had sustained gunshot wounds as a result of the shooting. The 15-year-old was pronounced dead on scene. The victim’s name is being withheld pending family notifications.
The ensuing investigation revealed that the victim was walking in the area of West Reed Street and South Governors Avenue when a group of suspects ambushed him and fired multiple shots at the victim.
Officials said through the investigation, Breshawn Best was identified as one of the people responsible for this shooting. Best was located and taken into custody without incident. He was transported to Dover Police Department to be processed and arraigned.
Best was committed to SCI on $1,086,000 cash bail on the following charges:
-Murder First Degree
-Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Felony
-Possession of Ammunition By a Person Prohibited
-Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Conspiracy First Degree
