The Dover Police Department has released details surrounding a fatal shooting that only First State Update told you about over the weekend.
Officials said they arrested Sadique Ingram, 23, of Dover, on murder charges, following a shooting that occurred on West Loockerman Street early Sunday morning. The investigation began at 1:26 a.m., when the Dover Police Department was called for a shooting in the area of Irish Mike’s, where two subjects had been shot.
Officers responded and located the victims, Syncere Friends, 25, of Dover, who had sustained a gunshot wound to his chest, and a 30-year-old female of Magnolia, who had sustained a gunshot wound to her lower body. Both victims were transported to Bayheath Kent Campus for treatment. Friends died as a result of his injuries while at the hospital.
The ensuing investigation lead investigators to identify Sadique Ingram as the person responsible for the shooting according to police. Detectives obtained warrants for his arrest and he was taken into custody during a traffic stop in Milford, Delaware late Sunday morning. Ingram was transported to Dover Police Department where he was processed and arraigned.
He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institute on $1,000,000 cash bail on charges of Murder First Degree, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Assault First Degree, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.
