Authorities arrested Fabian Jaworski, aged 35, and Sandra Zelinska, aged 34, both residents of Chicago, Illinois, on charges related to felony shoplifting. The arrests were made on Saturday, following a response to a reported theft at Lowe’s on Hessler Boulevard in New Castle.
Delaware State Police were alerted around 11:12 a.m. about the theft involving a man and a woman who allegedly absconded with merchandise from the Lowe’s store before fleeing in a Chrysler minivan. Subsequently, the suspects were spotted at a Dunkin’ Donuts on Concord Pike in Wilmington, where police were able to apprehend them.
Upon their arrest, police recovered stolen goods totaling over $4,000, including items taken from another Lowe’s location in Bear, valued at over $450, and merchandise worth more than $1,900 from the Hessler Boulevard store.
Jaworski has been charged with several offenses, including felony shoplifting over $1,500, receiving stolen property over $1,500, second-degree conspiracy, shoplifting under $1,500, and third-degree conspiracy. Following his arraignment at Justice of the Peace Court 11, he was remanded to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution with a cash bond set at $8,000.
Zelinska faces similar charges, including felony shoplifting over $1,500, receiving stolen property over $1,500, second-degree conspiracy, shoplifting under $1,500, and third-degree conspiracy. She was also arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and has been committed to Delores J. Baylor Correctional Institution with an $8,000 cash bond.
