Police: Online Purchase Leads To One Shot In Elkton

On Thursday, April 11, 2024, deputies from the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence on the unit block of Appaloosa Trail in Elkton, Maryland, following reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officials discovered blood and multiple shell casings within the home, although no victims were initially present.

Shortly after the deputies’ arrival, they learned that a gunshot victim was dropped off on Taft Street in Aberdeen, Maryland. The injured individual was subsequently transported to John Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where he received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

The ongoing investigation indicates that the shooting stemmed from an online transaction that led the involved parties to the Appaloosa Trail address police said Friday. According to the homeowner’s account, two individuals arrived at the home and displayed handguns, which escalated to gunfire and resulted in one person being shot.
