Suspects, Victim Flee The Scene After Dover Shooting

The Dover Police Department is currently investigating an incident involving gunfire that took place on Monday afternoon in the Capital Green neighborhood.

Officials said the incident occurred at approximately 2:01 p.m. in the 400 block of East Water Street. According to Master Corporal Ryan Schmid, the department’s public information officer, the initial call reported multiple gunshots in the area.

Upon arrival, police officers conducted an investigation and determined that three to four suspects, described as Black males, had exited a vehicle and opened fire on another vehicle that was occupied at the time. Following the shooting, the suspects reportedly fled the scene in a white SUV. The individual in the targeted vehicle also left the scene before police could make contact.

The Dover Police Department is urging anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward.
