Delaware State Police are actively investigating an attempted armed robbery that took place on May 13, 2024, at around 5:20 p.m.
According to police, the incident occurred in the parking lot of the Bowlerama located at 3031 New Castle Avenue in New Castle. The preliminary investigation showed that an unidentified suspect approached a Bowlerama employee who was carrying a bag of business property towards the entrance.
The suspect, brandishing a handgun, demanded the bag from the employee. Although the employee complied, the suspect inadvertently dropped the bag while fleeing the scene. He then reentered the passenger side of a sedan and the vehicle sped off in the direction of New Castle Avenue.
The suspect is described as a black male dressed in dark-colored clothing. No detailed description of the getaway vehicle or its driver has been provided at this time. Authorities are seeking any information from witnesses or those with knowledge of the incident and urge them to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
