Happening Now: 15-Year-Old Girl Shot Wednesday Evening

On Wednesday evening, shortly before 6:10 p.m., rescue crews and Wilmington Police were dispatched to the 200 block of W 26th Street in Wilmington following reports of a shooting.

According to initial reports, a 15-year-old female sustained gunshot wounds to an extremity. Upon arrival, officers provided immediate first aid, applying dressings to the teenager’s injuries.

The victim was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Wilmington Police remain at the scene, actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. Further details will be provided as the investigation progresses.
