Wilmington Police have updated a story that only First State Update brought you last week. Officials said they arrested a man in connection with a stabbing incident following an investigation.
On May 1, at approximately 10:42 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the unit block of West 29th Street, in reference to a stabbing incident. Upon arrival, officers located a 23-year-old female stabbing victim, who was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
The case was assigned to Detective Kevin Nolan of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Nolan identified 25-year-old Douglas Bahlouli as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest. Later that day, Bahlouli was taken into custody in Cecil County, Maryland, and extradited to Delaware on May 6.

Bahlouli has been charged with the following offenses:
- Attempted Murder (First Degree)
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony
- Breach of Release
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $804,000 cash-only bail.

Wilmington Police are conducting an investigation into a stabbing incident that occurred on the unit block of West 29th Street. The incident took place shortly before 10:45 on Wednesday evening.
According to initial reports, a woman in her 20s sustained multiple stab wounds and was subsequently transported to the trauma center with serious injuries. An infant was also located at the scene but was unharmed.
Emergency response crews from St. Francis, New Castle County Paramedics, and the Wilmington Fire Department were dispatched to the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
