Rider Critically Injured In Motorcycle Crash Monday

A serious traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a sedan occurred at the intersection of Boxwood Road and Centerville Road at approximately 7:23 on Monday evening. Jamielee Majewski, Assistant Public Information Officer for New Castle County said New Castle County Paramedics, the Minquas Fire Company of Newport, and the Belvedere Fire Company were dispatched following reports of the incident.

Arriving emergency responders arrived on the scene to find a damaged orange motorcycle and a black sedan involved in the collision. The motorcycle appeared to have sustained significant damage, lying on its side with parts scattered across the roadway.

A 29-year-old male motorcyclist was found to have suffered possible internal injuries and a leg injury. He was treated at the scene by New Castle County Paramedics and then transported to Christiana Hospital in critical condition, utilizing an ambulance from the Minquas Fire Company.

The Delaware State Police are investigating the incident.
