Police are investigating a crash that occurred early Friday morning.
A vehicle crashed into the patio area of the Concord Diner, located at 2530 Concord Pike in Wilmington just before 2:30 this morning.
The incident brought a response from multiple emergency services, including the Talleyville Fire Company and New Castle County Paramedics.
Upon arrival, rescue crews found the vehicle upside down with the driver already out of the vehicle. Initial reports indicated the driver was unconscious inside the vehicle prior to being assisted by Good Samaritans, as captured in videos reviewed by First State Update. These individuals reportedly attempted to extricate the driver, who appeared unresponsive.
The crash also resulted in a gas line being struck, which added the need for a building inspector to respond to the location.
Further details on the driver’s condition and the extent of damage to the Concord Diner have not yet been released.
