Shooting Victim Not Cooperating Police Say

The Dover Police Department is currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred on the unit block of South New Street, which resulted in property damage and left a 24-year-old man injured.

The incident was reported at approximately 10:43 p.m. on Monday. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a residence, home to a 60-year-old man and a 70-year-old man, both from Dover, had been struck by gunfire. Fortunately, neither of the occupants was injured during the incident.

Officials said during their investigation at the scene, police were informed that a 24-year-old man from Dover had been admitted to Bayhealth Kent Campus with a gunshot wound to his arm. According to the police, the victim was uncooperative with detectives and declined to provide any further details about the incident or a description of the suspect.

Further investigation indicated that the victim was walking with another individual along South New Street when an unidentified assailant, dressed in dark clothing, opened fire on them. The victim was hit in the arm, and following the attack, the suspect fled the scene.

The injured man subsequently sought medical treatment at Bayhealth Kent Campus. The investigation is ongoing as the Dover Police continue their efforts to gather more information and locate the suspect involved in this violent event.
