Four-Year-Old Ejected During Rollover Crash

At approximately 1:10 p.m. New Castle County Paramedics, the Odessa Fire Company, the Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched to Route 301 northbound in the area of Jamison Corner Road for reports of a motor vehicle collision with rollover.

The collision involved a single vehicle, which rolled over and ejected a pediatric patient. Initial reports from the scene indicate that the child was initially properly restrained but may have let himself out of his car seat just before the crash.

The approximately 30-year-female driver was transported by New Castle County Paramedics on board a
Volunteer Hose ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton in serious but stable condition with extremity injuries and possible internal injuries.

The approximately 4-year-old pediatric patient was treated by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to A.I. DuPont Hospital by Delaware State Police Aviation in critical condition with a head injury, extremity injuries, and possible internal injuries.
