The Delaware State Police have arrested 25-year-old Christopher Moran, of Millsboro, Delaware, for the murder of his stepfather, Dennis Harmon.
On June 2, 2024, at approximately 10.33 p.m., troopers responded to the 25000 block of Redwing Lane in the Rehoboth Shores for a stabbing. When troopers arrived, they found 61-year-old Dennis Harmon suffering from stab wounds in a front yard and began life-saving efforts.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. The preliminary investigation revealed that during a fight, Moran stabbed Harmon multiple times and fled the scene police said Monday. Troopers found Moran walking a short time later in the Rehoboth Shores and took him into custody without incident.
Moran was arrested and taken to Troop 7, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $1,180,000 cash bond.
- Murder First Degree (Felony)
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
