Delaware State Police are actively investigating a robbery that occurred last night at Food Lion, located at 4401 Governor Printz Boulevard in Wilmington.
Officials said on June 16, 2024, at approximately 8:07 p.m., an unidentified suspect, dressed in a black robe that concealed their body, entered the store. During the incident, an employee was transferring money from the cash registers to the safe.
While the safe was open, the suspect approached the employee, sprayed them with pepper spray, and took an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene on foot. The employee was transported to a nearby hospital and released without any lasting injuries. Video surveillance footage is currently unavailable.
