At approximately 2:51 PM today, emergency services responded to a serious motor vehicle crash on southbound Route 1, near Exit 86 in Frederica. The incident, which involved a motorcycle, tragically resulted in one fatality at the scene.
Units dispatched to the scene included Frederica Fire Company, Kent County Paramedics, and Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 2.
Following the crash, Delaware State Police Troopers closed Bay Road (SR 1) southbound near Frederica Road to manage the scene and conduct their investigation. Motorists were advised to seek alternate routes to avoid delays.
The roadway has since been reopened.
