Emergency crews are conducting a search operation in the Rehoboth Bay area near Masseys Landing for a missing kayaker. Search efforts are being coordinated both from the water and the air. Command has requested assistance from the Coast Guard to aid in the search.
The kayaker, identified by a family member on a nearby sandbar in a pontoon boat, was last seen over an hour ago. The missing individual is described as a male wearing a light blue lifejacket and paddling a brown kayak.
Rehoboth Beach and Indian River Fire have been dispatched to the scene, along with Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 2, to assist in the search and rescue efforts.
