Rehoboth Beach Arrest Juvenile On Rape Charges

Rehoboth Beach Police make an arrest in June incident on the beach.

Officials said on Wednesday June 19th, 2024 at approximately 12:02 a.m. officers were patrolling the boardwalk when they were contacted, asking for help concerning a sexual assault. Officers responded to the area Brooklyn Avenue on the Boardwalk where they spoke with the victim, a juvenile. The victim was transported to an area hospital where they were treated and released. Through their on scene investigation, officers were able to establish the identity of the suspect, also a juvenile, and determined that they were no longer in the area Police said Tuesday. The suspect and the victim were unknown to each other prior to meeting that evening.

Following continued investigative actions, warrants were obtained for the suspect on June 28th, 2024. The suspect voluntarily returned to Delaware on July 2nd, 2024 and they were arraigned at Sussex County Family Court.

The suspect was charged with Rape in the Second Degree Without Consent and Rape in the Fourth Degree Without Consent, both are felonies.

The suspect was released after posting $20,000 secured bond and has been court ordered not to return to the State of Delaware for any reason but for court appearance.
