Wilson Road Closed After Head-On Collision Monday

Delaware State Police are investigating a serious head-on collision that occurred in the 1100 block of Wilson Road in Wilmington just before 4:00 Monday afternoon.

Upon arrival, first responders reported two patients trapped in their vehicles. Emergency crews successfully extricated one patient from their vehicle. A second patient remained trapped in another vehicle, while the driver of the third vehicle managed to self-extricate.

One patient was transported to Wilmington Hospital with unspecified injuries. The status of the other two drivers, including whether they were transported or injured, remains unclear at this time.

Tallyville, Brandywine Hundred, and Claymont Fire Companies, along with New Castle County Paramedics, responded to the scene.

Delaware State Police Aviation was initially dispatched but was subsequently recalled. Wilson Road is currently closed as authorities continue their investigation and clean-up efforts. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
