At approximately 2:15 pm on Monday, New Castle County Paramedics, Townsend Fire Company, Citizens’ Hose Company of Smyrna, and American Legion Ambulance of Smyrna were dispatched to Route 1 at the DuPont Parkway underpass for a motor vehicle accident with a vehicle rolled over. Responding units confirmed reports.
Upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found a 72-year-old female patient outside the vehicle, in care of responders on-scene. The patient suffered injuries to her head. The patient was treated on-scene by New Castle County Paramedics and was transported to Christiana Hospital in Newark via American Legion ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in serious condition at the time of transport.
Delaware State Police are investigating the incident.
