Authorities are asking residents in the Albertson Park neighborhood and surrounding areas to review their video surveillance footage from the evening of August 26, between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., for any suspicious activity, such as individuals walking around the neighborhood or vehicles leaving the area after 9:00 p.m. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Detective Bruhn.
Earlier on Tuesday the Delaware State Police said they were investigating a similar armed robbery that occurred early this morning at a Wilmington area Valero gas station.
Officials said on August 27, 2024, at approximately 12:11 a.m., troopers responded to a report of a robbery at the Valero, located at 1327 McKennans Church Road in Wilmington.
Officials said the preliminary investigation showed that an unknown masked white male suspect entered the Valero, approached an employee while brandishing a firearm, and demanded money from the cash register. The employee complied and the suspect fled on foot in a southbound direction with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Neither agency has said whether the two incidents are related. The provided photo is from the Centerville incident.
