Fire Investigation Closes Limestone Road Sunday

Firefighters from the Mill Creek Fire Company, with assistance from surrounding fire companies, responded to a residential structure fire in the Rolling Hills Development on the 1700 block of Limestone Road,in Wilmington, just before 10:00 AM on Sunday.

Upon arrival, firefighters reported smoke showing from the structure. Entry into the home revealed fires in both a bedroom and the living room according to radio reports. During the search and rescue operation, crews reportedly discovered a victim and possibly two pets inside the residence. The conditions of the occupants have yet to be confirmed by investigators.

Following the initial firefighting efforts, crews were ordered to evacuate the home to allow the fire marshal to conduct an investigation. Investigators from Dover are reportedly being called to the scene to assist with the investigation.

Limestone Road is currently closed in both directions as emergency personnel continue to manage the situation.
