Just after 9:40 on Sunday evening, rescue crews from the Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown were dispatched to the scene of a serious two-vehicle collision.
The crash occurred in the area of St. Joseph Church, located at 319 E Main St in Middletown. The incident involved a head-on collision between a midsize white crossover SUV and a larger, dark-colored SUV, both of which sustained heavy damage in the crash.
Upon arrival at the scene, the command requested a total of four ambulances to provide immediate medical assistance. A 19-year-old female, who was a backseat passenger in one of the vehicles, was quickly transported to Christiana Hospital, along with an 18-year-old male who was also involved in the collision.
Two additional teenagers, who were occupants of the same vehicle, were taken to the hospital by personal vehicle for evaluation and treatment. A fifth individual involved in the crash declined medical transport at the scene according to reports from the scene.
In the aftermath of the collision, a woman from the other vehicle was observed being questioned by Middletown Police officers. This crash went unreported to the public. Middletown Police did not release any details surrounding the crash or the circumstances leading up to it.
