Lewes Residents Awake To No Water Tuesday

The Lewes Board of Public Works (BPW) announced this morning that a communication failure at the city’s water treatment plant has resulted in a disruption of water services across the area. Efforts are currently underway to restore water service to all affected residents according to the board.

The water system is being worked on and as water pressure gradually increases, many residents may begin to see their water service returning. However, the Board advises residents to refrain from using hot water until the entire system is fully restored and flushed.

At this time, there is no estimated timeline for when full restoration of services will occur. The Lewes Board of Public Works assured the public that they are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible according to post on social media.

The Board has not provided further details regarding the cause of the communication failure but emphasized that resolving the issue remains a top priority.

Updates on water services can be found on the BPW website, on their Facebook page or by calling the BPW office at 302-645-6228
