One Injured In Fiery Crash Sunday Morning

Delaware State Police are investigating a crash that sent one to the hospital Sunday morning.

Early Sunday morning, at approximately 1:45, rescue crews were dispatched following reports of a motor vehicle crash in the area of 12141 Coastal Highway in Milton. As units responded to the scene, additional information indicated that the vehicle was on fire and an occupant was trapped inside.

Upon arrival, responders pulled the driver out of the vehicle. After a quick assessment, Command requested medics to respond to the scene to assist with EMTs.

Crews from Milton, Lewes, Sussex County Paramedics, and Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 2 were initially dispatched, Command later reduced the assignment to units on scene with medics continuing to respond.

Emergency medical personnel provided on-scene treatment to the patient, who was subsequently transported to Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. The extent of the injuries remains unknown at this time.
