Pedestrian Seriously Injured In Friday Night Crash

The Delaware State Police are investigating a motor vehicle collision that occurred Friday evening.

Lieutenant Abigail Haas, said the accident, which took place on Newtown Road in the area of Bear Christiana Road, involved a pedestrian. At approximately 8:56, first responders, including New Castle County Paramedics and units from the Christiana Fire Company, were dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel located a male patient, approximately 31 years old, who had been hit by a vehicle and thrown onto the roadway. The patient sustained serious head injuries and possible internal injuries as a result of the collision.

The paramedics on scene provided immediate medical care before the patient was transported to Christiana Hospital in Stanton. His condition was reported as serious at the time of transport.
