Wilmington police are investigating a shooting that left two injured Saturday afternoon.
Initial reports from the scene indicate that two individuals were found with gunshot wounds in the area of East 22nd Street and Lamotte Street on Saturday at approximately 1:30 p.m.
Emergency services responded to the scene and provided initial treatment. Both patients were subsequently transported to a nearby trauma center, with one of the individuals reported to be in critical condition.
The 30-year-old male gunshot victim, who was transported to the hospital in critical condition succumbed to his injuries.
A 27-year-old female gunshot victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition with wounds to her lower extremity.
