On Sunday evening, September 22, 2024, at approximately 11:15 p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to a traffic collision involving a vehicle rollover on Route 1 North, near the Dupont Parkway Underpass in Townsend.
Upon arrival, the first units on scene reported a vehicle resting on its roof and immediately ordered the road to be closed.
Initial reports from the scene indicated that at least one occupant of the vehicle refused transport to the hospital after being evaluated by medical personnel. Authorities kept the road closed as crews worked to clear the crash site.
The roadway was reopened after the scene was cleared.
