Three Arrested During Chase Field House Field Trip

Wilmington Police have arrested three juveniles following a physical altercation in the 400 Block of Garasches Lane.

Officials said the incident occurred at approximately 12:00 p.m., on Friday, when officers responded to reports of large disorderly groups in the area. Upon arrival, police encountered several groups of juvenile-aged individuals involved in physical confrontations.

As a result, a 16-year-old female, a 16-year-old male, and a 15-year-old male were taken into custody. Two of the juveniles were treated at a hospital for exposure to pepper spray, while the third juvenile was treated for a minor head injury.

The 16-year-old female was charged with Resisting Arrest and Disorderly Conduct before being released. The two male juveniles, aged 16 and 15, were each charged with Disorderly Conduct and have also been released.

In an email to parents, the Christina School District said the altercation took place during a field trip to the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) College Fair at the Chase Field House, involving students from Christiana High School, Glasgow High School, and Newark High School. The field trip was abruptly halted as police and security intervened.

As the crowd dispersed, a few students from the Christina School District sustained minor injuries and received prompt medical attention.
