Crash Sends Two Children To AI Saturday, One By Air

On Saturday, at approximately 10:00 p.m., New Castle County Division of Police responded to a serious motor vehicle accident on Smith Bridge Road in Northern New Castle County.

The incident reportedly involved a vehicle that had collided with a utility pole and injured at least two. Emergency responders, including the Talleyville Fire Company and New Castle County Paramedics, were on scene for an extended period, coordinating efforts to stabilize and transport the injured according to sources familiar with the incident.

Although three ambulances were dispatched to the scene, it’s unclear the total number of patients that were transported to the hospital. One child was airlifted to Nemours Children’s Hospital (AI duPont) by Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 4. A second child was transported by ground to AI.

County police have the investigation.
